SUSAN
HUNSINGER-HOFF

Hello, Everyone,

My name is Susan Hunsinger-Hoff and I am working to be reelected as School Director for Hatboro-Horsham School District.  Having grown up in Horsham and residing in Hatboro for the past 41 years, I have strong affiliations with both communities and care deeply about the progress and success of education for all our children.

My late husband and I raised our three children in this district; Jess, Julia, and Ian were active in HHoops basketball, soccer, and Little League programs throughout their childhoods and all three have grown to be happy, compassionate, successful adults.

I am a retired educator with 44 years of teaching experience, in both public and independent schools, with expertise in K-12 curricular technology, interdisciplinary curriculum development, and personalized teaching/learning to address the needs of all learners. Simultaneously, for 11 years I was an adjunct professor at the graduate level for teachers seeking master’s degrees and reading specialist certification. I know what it takes to provide excellence in teaching and learning and I will work tirelessly to ensure Hatboro-Horsham provides the very best. Education is in my blood.

Currently the VP of Charitable Giving for The Woman’s Club of Suburban Philadelphia, I am an integral part of an organization that serves children in need in our communities.  WCSP is a nonprofit group that supports the educational, emotional, and physical needs of children in Montgomery and Bucks Counties. I created and maintain our Woman's Club website.

I am currently in my first term as Hatboro-Horsham School Director, serving since 2019.  I am an active participant in the Professional Development, Safe Schools, and Policy Committees, and serve as Chair of the Curriculum Committee.  I am running again because I believe the Hatboro-Horsham School District needs honest, dedicated, hard-working school directors who have the time, energy, and expertise to research, analyze, and discuss issues important to education in our District.  I believe special emphasis must be placed on communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.  I encourage our district to graduate good digital citizens who:

  • think critically as consumers of online material, who can discern fact from propaganda, and who will act mindfully and compassionately as producers of online content as they participate in social media interactions

  • care about their reputation and honor…and the impact that negative interactions can have on their lives and the lives of others

  • detect the signs of bullying and act to eliminate it

I will work to keep our children safe, happy, and successful in school, and in the cyber world beyond their classrooms.  Hatboro-Horsham Schools are very good. With the four of us, David Brown, Theresa Brown, DJ Schultz, and I, Susan Hunsinger-Hoff, continuing to serve as Hatboro-Horsham School Directors, you can be sure our district is on its way to becoming exceptional.
